Who taught when? The design department faculty and programs were works in progress. As the Greek philosopher Heraclitus is reported to have said, “Everything flows, nothing stands still.” Students in the mid-fifties had a different set of teachers, different courses, and different problems from students in the 60s or 70s. In 1985 the design department was folded into Art and Design. The chart below is a rough approximation of the tenure dates for various faculty.
